The Stonyford Public Hall celebrated its Centenary in May 2026. As part of that celebration, they published a book detailing their history which was researched and written by Rob Wuchatsch.
The Stonyford Public Hall was officially opened on March 3, 1926. The opening was attended by an estimated 400 people from across the district. An opening ceremony (by Cr H.T. Jones) was followed by a musical programme given by Terang artists: Messrs Sorenson and three members of the Dunstan family. After supper, dancing commenced to music supplied by Messrs Turner, McCorkhill, G. Anson, W. Thomson, and J. Sexton.
The Stonyford Hall was a popular place for local dances, bringing people from across the district well up to 1980. At this point, a variety of changes in local social life, as well as increased mechanization of farms (which led to a decrease in employees and a subsequent decrease in the local population overall) saw the decline of events held at community halls like Stonyford.
In 2006, members of the hall committee and the local community set out to save their hall. Years of hard work, events and grant applications resulted in the completion of its renovation in 2011. The re-opening was celebrated on 31 July 2011 with an afternoon tea.
In November 2013, the Stonyford Hall was home to "Stonyfest Music Festival" with performances from local groups such as Tune-A-Week (now known as "Tuniversal"). In October of 2014, the hall hosted A Stonyford Hall Family Bush Dance.
The Stonyford Hall continues to be utilized as a home for meetings of the Stonyford Rural Fire Brigade, the Stony Rises Landcare group, and regular Yoga classes.
